We recently had our first Family Learning Center night at Rogers. Family Learning Center nights are nights where families are invited to come back to school to either participate in scheduled programs and activities or come for an evening of family games and reading. Our first night this year was a kick off for the school year. Supper was provided for the families and playground games were organized by volunteers for families to play.
This was also to debut for the Rogers Gardens. Garden volunteers set up tables and gave out samples of recipes with ingredients straight from the gardens. Students and families sampled homemade coleslaw, two types of pickles, and two types of salsa. Each family also had the opportunity to sign their students up for our soon to start after school Garden Club. There is excitement in the air for these gardens and we are ready to share this success with everyone.
